A pleasant surprise

I said it before and I'll say it again: photography shouldn't be like going to the dentist. Whether you're on the front or back end of that lens, it should happen painlessly. Your photographer should LOVE what they're doing when they're leaning on that shutter, and you should at some point forget the fear and just do your thing.

Lots of people are turned off by family photography because they think it involves hours of standing in front of a white backdrop, being told when and how to smile, when and how to lift their chin.

And some photography is like that. But not all photography.

A friend and client mentioned that her husband was pleasantly surprised at how easy the photoshoot went. He'd expected something like the dentist, probably. A 'grin-and-bear-it' experience (mind you, at the dentist  you can't even grin).

Here are some painless photos from their shoot.
